Welcome to our cozy River Road Cottage, located in the heart of the perfect spot for river floating adventures. Our two-bedroom bohemian-style cottage sits on a beautiful grassy property between river crossings 2 and 3 on the Guadalupe River, providing the perfect base for your river-floating getaway.
After a fun-filled day on the Guadalupe river, come back to our River Road Cottage and enjoy the peaceful evenings on the spacious upper deck with gorgeous river views. You can also walk right down to the private riverfront to relax and take in the scenic beauty of the river. We’ve included a fire pit and Adirondack chairs for you to enjoy river-side campfires and share stories about your river floating adventures.
Our River Road Cottage is equipped with high-speed wifi, internet-connected TVs, and A/C & heat to ensure that you stay comfortable and connected throughout your stay. Our location also provides easy access to various river rental companies, making your river floating experience seamless and hassle-free.

Riverfront Bungalow Accommodations
Main entrance into the River Road Cottage located on the upper level of the house. This is where the living room, dining space, kitchen and first restroom are located. You can also access the upper deck that looks out over the property and river. Take a small spiral staircase down and you will find the sleeping spaces. There are two bedrooms and the area between these rooms have four bunk beds. There’s also a bathroom and a small seating area that doubles as more bedding when needed. You also find another doorway leading to the lower outside patio, yard, and river access.
Important note: The spiral stairs to the lower level are unusually steep. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Stairs
The spiral stairs to the lower level are unusually steep. It is possible to walk to the lower level outside and come into the house from below if necessary.
Pet Policy
Pets are allowed, but please keep pets off of furniture and beds. Bring your own pet beds and towels; do not use our blankets and bath towels for pets. Pets are not allowed to roam free while outdoors since the yard is not enclosed. It would be expected that you would clean up after your pet outside. The pet fee is $20 per pet and we ask that you leave cash upon checkout or contact me to send payment.
Linens & Towels
Clean, fresh bed linens are always provided. Queen beds will be made, but bunks will have linens neatly placed and waiting to be made by guests, as needed. We will also provide bath towels but these are not for use at the river. Please plan to bring your own beach towels for after your outdoor water activities
Ice & Water
This house has a country water well. Some guests have mentioned not liking the taste of the tap water so we mention this as a suggestion to bring your own drinking water. There are no ice-makers in the home so make a plan for any necessary ice, as well.
Paper Products
We provide a standard and reasonable amount of toilet paper and paper towels at the start of your stay. Depending on your group size or length of stay, plan ahead for additional paper products that your group may need.
Televisions
TVs are provided in living spaces and bedrooms. They are equipped with Roku devices to access cable and you are welcome to sign into your own streaming accounts.
Grill
A charcoal grill is provided, but you must bring your own charcoal, lighter fluid, and matches. (County burn bans do not apply to outdoor grilling)
Fire Pit
You will have to provide your own firewood for the fire pit. You are welcome to forage for dead wood on the property. Campfires are NOT allowed during a county burn ban. Please check the status of the burn ban at the Comal County Fire Marshal website.
Dumpster
For convenience a dumpster is located in front of the house. Guests are always expected to remove all trash from the house before departure. Please check all interior and exterior spaces for trash that should be discarded.
Large Groups
I have other rentals available down the road. If your group needs more space, please send an inquiry.
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING
This is an older home and it is not perfect. We are continually fixing and upgrading the home as things are brought to our attention. We are in a rural area. We periodically spray the perimeter of the home with strong insecticide, but insects will still manage to find their way inside from time to time. This is normal for a home at this location.
Pictures of the home may show past decor and furniture; including exterior sitting areas. When things go missing, or are broken, we do our best to replace them with similar items.
Guests are welcome to the entire lot. Please do not access neighboring yards for recreation, parking or river access.
River Road is a very fun place with lots to do. You will be in between New Braunfels and Canyon Lake, which both have lots to offer. Many attractions and activities nearby include: swimming, tubing, rafting, paddle boarding, fishing, biking, hiking, bird watching, geocaching, camping, ice houses, cafes, restaurants, shopping and live music. You could even take a day trip to Austin or San Antonio and return to your riverfront bunaglow!

River Road Cottage isn’t close to any public transport, but we have free parking for 4-5 vehicles. Guests have reported that Uber is also available.
